Aequilibrium is always looking for ways to improve our employee experience and create meaningful moments together. In that spirit, we invited our employees to our downtown Vancouver office for an evening of fun!

To thank them for all their amazing work this year, our Canada-based employees were treated to exciting activities, drinks, fine dining, and of course, connection. Employees outside of Canada or who were unable to join us instead received a surprise cash gift.

Seeing old faces and new

To kick things off, we all met up at our downtown Vancouver office for refreshments and activities. Many of us hadn’t seen Aequilibrium’s familiar faces in a whole year, while our newer recruits were appearing in person for the first time. Needless to say, the room was alive with excitement and energy.

After some snacks, we got started with an icebreaker game to get each other talking and connecting. We created Bingo cards with fun facts like “Binged Squid Game in one day” or “Is on the XR team” and challenged ourselves to find someone who matched the fact. The game was a huge hit! We sparked up countless conversations, punctuated with shouts of “BINGO!” across the room. One dedicated player even managed to fully blackout his card.

Once we were energized and properly introduced, we broke out into different fun activities. They included using VR headsets to explore a world created by our XR team, a 3D printing demo, Mario Kart, and a return to Aequilibrium’s cultural roots with a classic ping pong tourney.

Envisioning our future

It wasn’t all Bingo and ping pong. After our games, we settled down to hear about next year’s vision in a town hall from Adrian Moise, Aequilibrium’s CEO. Employees from all over the world also joined in to watch virtually.

Not only did Adrian and other leaders give important insights into new plans and strategies for 2022, but a big highlight was our plans for company culture. Adrian spoke passionately about a recent employee survey that revealed the vast majority of employees are happy with Aequilibrium and its direction.

But, in the spirit of continuous improvement, that doesn’t mean the job is done. Adrian announced several upcoming improvements to the employee experience that got us excited about the year ahead.

Wrapping up with drinks and fine dining

To end the evening with a bang, we all headed down the street to Gotham Steakhouse in the heart of Vancouver.

Here we got to connect with new and old colleagues over drinks, conversation, and laughter. And of course, we were all treated to a world-class meal with 3 courses and many, many glasses of wine.

But that wasn’t all — each employee also received a shimmering bag with a gift card and their own branded t-shirt made of 100-percent merino wool. Ooh la la!

An evening to remember

Just as Aequilibrium is dedicated to creating incredible experiences for our clients, we strive for incredible employee experience too. This evening was just the latest example of how we’re bringing that to life and always looking for ways to make working at Aequlibrium a little more awesome.
